Inshore boats reported excellent catches of Red Drum.

Unsettled weather kept offshore boats at the dock today. Maybe May will bring Spring-like weather and better fishing!

Excellent Dolphin fishing today as well as some nice Wahoo catches. Blackfin Tuna were also caught in fair numbers. Weather turned warm and muggy today with overcast skies. No inshore boats fished.

 Release: Levi Goehring of New Brighton, PA caught a 21lb Blackfin Tuna.

Hatteras Blue: Adrian Brewer of Stafford, VA released a Barracuda. Steven Hall of Centerville, VA caught a 44lb Wahoo.

Monday, April 28, 2014

Excellent catch of a nice class of Dolphin/Mahi. Scattered Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna. Hatteras Fever released a White Marlina and a Sailfish today. No boats fished inshore.

Offshore: Boats came back with good catches of Blackfin Tuna, few King Mackerel and Dolphin. The Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna bite were scattered Boats that bottom fished caught Gray Tilefish. One White Marlin was released.

Inshore: Anglers on the Sound caught Red Drum and scattered catches of Gray Trout.

Release: Lauren Taylor, James Pearson, Suzanne Age, John Hudson, Katherine Renn and David Pearson all of Hampton, VA caught Blackfin Tunas form 22 to 33 lbs.

Good Times: Edward Ibinson of Fredericksburg, VA released a White Marlin. Aaron Wilkemeyer of Warrenton, VA caught a 55lb Grouper.

Inshore boats continue to catch Red Drum.

Offshore boats returned today with some gaffer Dolphin, a few Wahoo, a few Yellowfin Tuna, good Blackfin Tuna, Grouper, and Amberjack. A White Marlin was released today.

Offshore boats reported a beautiful morning to head out fishing, although a bumpy ride returning this afternoon. They brought in a good catch of Dolphin (mostly gaffer size), a few Blackfin Tuna, and good Bottom fish (Grouper, Black Sea Bass, and Amberjack).

Inshore boats reported a limit of Red Drum with massive schools spotted.

We had about 4 or 5 boats fishing offshore today, they had catches of Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna, Dolphin and some Wahoo.

There were also some inshore boats fishing in the sound today, they looked from Hatteras to Ocracoke for some Drum but didn't have any luck today, but tomorrows another day.

We finally saw some blue skies and boats out fishing today! Weather warmed up as well and we were all happier to see it. Blackfin Tuna was the main catch today with a few Dolphin and Wahoo mixed in. Bottom fishing went well with Grouper and Sea Bass being caught. Godspeed released a Blue Marlin as well. Inshore Red Drum were being caught.

Release: Blackfin Tunas for this group out of Kinston. Ely Perry 25lb. Perry Rudolph 28lb and 26lb. Burton Rudolph 24lb. Joseph Spear 34lb. Gram Spear 24lb.

Hatteras Blue: Waverly Alley of Fredericksburg, VA caught a 4lb Sea Bass.

Godspeed: Dean Hinson of Falls Church, VA released a Blue Marlin.

Wind continued to whoosh through Hatteras until late afternoon, when it dialed back and we are actually seeing blue skies. Several boats booked tomorrow and they will hopefully have good weather and full coolers. Check back in to find out or better yet call and book your day.
