Weather continued to be beautiful if a bit overcast. Rain scattered through in the early morning but soon cleared off. The winds were nothing making the sound a mirror all day long. It was hard to tell where the horizon ended and the sky started it was so calm. Charters today reported Excellent King Mackerel fishing with limits, some huge ones being brought in that were citation weight.

The day stayed chilly and overcast. No charters were scheduled to fish today, however, the boats that commercial fished had good catches of King Mackerel off live bait.

Northwest winds continue to gust around 25 kts. bringing a cold wind across the island. Big seas kept everyone on land today - except for a few hardy duck hunters. Come by the Ship's Store and pick up those last minute gifts to place under your Christmas tree!

Friday, December 18, 2015

Gusty northwest winds brought much cooler temperatures to our area today. White caps in the Pamlico Sound kept inshore boats at the dock. Rain squalls and heavy seas prevented any offshore trips from heading out. Conditions are forecasted to worsen overnight with a gale warning in effect.

We will be open this weekend and the beginning of next week in order for you to finish up your Christmas shopping!

Boats were commercial fishing today. They reported excellent King Mackerel fishing and a few Blackfin Tuna. Weather was beautiful and balmy without even a hint of winter. Come check out our great gifts in the marina store.

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Quiet on the home front today, some great warm weather though. It certainly isn't Christmas weather but we aren't complaining. Still some beautiful things if you are still looking for that special present.

Sunday, December 13, 2015

A beautiful day to be on the water! Offshore charter boats came back with good catches of King Mackerel while the Albacore bite was scattered.

Inshore charters enjoyed a peaceful day on the Sound. They had good catches of Speckled Trout with about 15 keepers.

Don't forget, we fish all year! Plan your trip now! 800-676-4939!

Another beautiful day on Hatteras! Offshore boats went out and returned with excellent catches of King Mackerel. A few Dolphin were caught, as well as a few Wahoo (some citation size). A few Blackfin Tuna helped to fill the fish box. The Christmas Parade took place today and we included a few pictures of that as well. Santa is alive and well on the island!! So watch your p's and q's!
