There have been no boats out yesterday or today, we have been fogged in pretty bad. On Tuesday there were a couple boats out looking for some Bluefin Tuna. There were some seen and one hooked but it pulled off. So better luck next time.

Well, we had 2 boats out fishing today, they were in search of Bluefin Tuna, there were a few caught around the point, but not by our guys. Meanwhile, on land, mate Tim and sweet baby Lilly, after finishing boat work headed out to the beach. Pictured here in daddys pouch, Lilly and her 1st Red Drum

It has been a week of brutal cold wind, snow showers and ice formations on Hatteras Island. We are all anxious to get out and back to the business of fishing. We do have two boats scheduled to fish tomorrow and the weather may even cooperate! Think warm!!

Friday, February 13, 2015

Cold, north winds brought snow showers last night, with more showers forecast for the weekend - after all it is Winter! The good news is that the days are getting longer and before we know it will be warm again. In the meantime start planning your next fishing adventure - give us a call @ 1-800-676-4939 and we can hook you up for a great time fishing in the Gulfstream or in the Pamlico Sound. Hatteras Harbor wishes everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!!

So happy for a good fishing day yesterday, back to the wind! No boats fished.

Saturday, February 07, 2015

Several boats from our offshore fleet ventured out today for a great day of fishing and some beautiful weather to boot! Anglers returned to the dock with good catches of Blackfin Tuna and Yellowfin Tuna. Several gaffer sized Dolphin were caught - it was said that they were quite active and very colorful - "they looked like spring flowers". It has been a long, cold winter here on the island and everyone is looking for signs of Spring, as I'm sure folks up north feel the same under all that snow! Bottom fishing was good today with catches of Triggerfish, Tilefish, Sea Bass, Grouper, and Amberjack. Another beautiful day is forecast for tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend!
