Great day for billfish on the blue water with 5 Sailfish being released between 6 boats fishing offshore today. They also brought in great catches of Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna with a few Dolphin in the mix. Hatteras Blue released a Sailfish with Release and Sea Creature each releasing two each. Good Bluefish and Speckled Trout in the sound with Red Drum staying on the board.
Release: Nathaniel Howard of VA Beach, VA released a Sailfish. Gregory Parker of Chesapeake, VA released a Sailfish.
Sea Creature: Justin Garnett of Bahama, NC released a Sailfish. Evan Henderson of Cary, NC released a Sailfish.
Hatteras Blue: Nicholas Novellino of Suffolk, VA caught a 55lb Wahoo. Ursula Novellino of Suffolk, VA released a Sailfish.
Carolina Girl: James Kriney of Green Brook, NJ caught a 40lb Wahoo.
Good Times: Joshua Shook of Elberon, VA caught a 42lb Wahoo.

Unsettled weather kept most boats at the dock this morning. Several charters ventured offshore and returned early in the afternoon due to rough seas. They reported a fair to good Wahoo bite, some gaffer and bailer Dolphin, and a few Blackfin Tuna. Inshore charters braved choppy conditions in the Pamlico Sound. They experienced a fairly good Red Drum bite. Speckled Trout catches were good.

Our fleet was booked up again today, however fishing conditions were much slower than usual. Inshore anglers released several over slot Red Drum and one party caught a limit of Puppy Drum. Near shore anglers had better luck with Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Bluefish, and one keeper Drum (although a school of Drum were spotted just off the beach). Offshore, Hatteras Fever released a Sailfish. A few Dolphin and Wahoo were caught. Triggerfish were caught above the wrecks. It's been an exceptionally beautiful late summer day! Carolina blue skies and slick calm waters are made for fishing enthusiasts! Fishing in the Pamlico Sound brought about Speckled Trout, Gray Trout, and Red Drum. The afternoon catch consisted of Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. Don't forget that they can take you clamming or sight-seeing as well. Offshore, Native Son released a Sailfish and Brother's Pride released a Blue Marlin. Wahoo fishing was fair to good today. The Blackfin Tuna bite was fair and a few gaffer Dolphin were caught. Some boats targeted King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel on the way in. We need 4-5 people for a Make up charter for tomorrow. An absolutely beautiful day to be on the water! The marina has been a hub of activity with inshore, near shore, and offshore fishing parties. Inshore groups enjoyed a great day catching over slot Red Drum and keeper Puppy Drum. Speckled Trout fishing was good today. Near shore anglers had a wonderful time with Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Offshore anglers enjoyed good fishing conditions and returned with gaffer Dolphin, fair to good catches of Wahoo, and a few Blackfin Tuna.Two Sailfish and one White Marlin were released. Way to go, guys!

Offshore swell kept our boats at the dock. Waves will be falling out overnight so we hope to have a lot of boats out fishing tomorrow. Inshore boats enjoyed a day out on the water with hot temps and blue skies. They reported good Speckled Trout fishing as well as some Red Drum and Bluefish.

Fair fishing today with partially cloudy skies and high temps. Offshore boats were having a scrappy to fair day all around with decent Wahoo a few Dolphin, Grouper and Tuna. Good Times, Sea Creature and Reliance both released Sailfish. Carolina Girl released a Blue Marlin. Inshore boats had good Puppy Red Drum catches, Speckled Trout, Bluefish and excellent clamming. Nearshore had excellent King Mackerel fishing and Spanish Mackerel.
Good Times: Tessa Focia of Lancaster, PA caught a 40lb Wahoo. Grey Lindsay of Lancaster, PA released a Sailfish.
Carolina Girl: Ken Fechter of Burlington, NJ released a Blue Marlin. Karen Fechter of Burlington, NJ caught a 30lb Grouper.

Congratulations to the Ladies fishing the Alice Kelly on the Release- 3 Sailfish and 1 Blue Marlin release
Overcast sky with good sea conditions, fishing was a little scrappy, there were some Wahoo caught and a few Blackfin Tuna. Bottom fishing was good with catches of Tilefish, Trigger Fish, Grouper and Amberjack.
Inshore anglers had a good day with catches of big Red Drum and catches of keeper Red Drum
Along the beach a good number of King Mackerel were boated

Overcast skies and numerous rain squalls did not deter anglers from fishing here in Hatteras. Inshore parties enjoyed a morning of good Drum fishing, along with Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. This afternoon brought Speckled Trout, Puppy Drum, and several Cobia. Sea Creature released a Blue Marlin and a Sailfish offshore. Dolphin fishing was fair. The Wahoo bite bite was strong for some. A few Blackfin Tuna were added into the mix. What a great way to spend a rainy day!

It has been an exciting day of fishing out of Hatteras Harbor Marina. Inshore anglers experienced an excellent Red Drum bite today. Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel provided a good bite inshore and near shore. One boat went wreck fishing and boated Triggerfish and Vermillion Snapper. Almost our entire fleet fished offshore and the boat parade out of the creek this morning was a pretty sight! The Billfish bite was on today! Four Blue Marlin were released and six Sailfish were released - way to go anglers! Wahoo fishing continues to be good. A few Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna were caught as well. Despite rainy and overall overcast conditions, most all of our fleet stayed busy on the water today. Our inshore fleet had a great time catching lots of Bluefish. Spanish Mackerel fishing was good as well. Some Speckled Trout made it into the fish box. Even though it was overcast on shore, offshore anglers enjoyed a beautiful slick calm day fishing. Wahoo and Dolphin fishing continues to be good. One Blue Marlin and two Sailfish were released. The weather is going to be a little unsettled for the next couple of days - but the fish don't seem to mind - besides they are already wet!

A little rainy this morning but it didn't keep the boats in, a good number headed offshore. While most of the boats boated some Wahoo their were also some that found schools of Dolphin and caught some of them as well. A few Blackfin Tuna finished off the meat fish.

Weather kept the Offshore boats at the dock, looks like they will have a much better chance of getting out tomorrow. A few Inshore boats ventured out and had great Red Drum fishing both morning and afternoon despite getting rained on.

Weather today was overcast with periods of rainy squalls. A few boats offshore today they reported good Wahoo and some Blackfin Tuna. Predator released 2 Blue Marlins and a Sailfish. Good Times released 2 Sailfish. Inshore boats fished between the rain and got keeper Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish and limits of Clams. We are starting our makeup list for the week and already have a few people interested in going. It only takes 5 to make a trip so come by and claim your spot for and all day Gulfstream fishing trip for $280.

Just a few boats offshore today, they had catches of Wahoo, Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna. There were also some Grouper caught. Predator released a Sailfish
Inshore boats had catches of both Gray and Speckled Trout, keeper size and release size Red Drum, also a few Sea Mullet. Round the inlet and along the beach catches of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish rounded out the day.

Winds blew from the SW creating a big swell offshore, so no boats fished today. Inshore anglers got on the Speckled Trout again this morning. Looking forward to better weather tomorrow, so check back or come to the dock between 4-5 p.m. to watch the catch come in!

Hatteras Island was reopened to visitors at noon today! We are very grateful to CHEC and everyone who came to help and restore power. Thanks to everyone for their patience during the last week! We are open and ready to take you fishing inshore, near shore, or offshore. The fish are awaiting your arrival! Several boats fished inshore and enjoyed a rainy morning catching Speckled Trout. The Wahoo bite was excellent offshore today and anglers returned with limits. A few Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna were caught. Bottom fish included Tilefish and Grouper. Good Times boated a Sailfish.

It has been a rather quiet day in Hatteras. We may have regular power restored in 1 or 2 days and as soon as that is accomplished hopefully we'll be ready to welcome visitors back on the island. Thanks to everyone for their patience! Inshore charters reported good Speckled Trout catches and a good Puppy Drum bite. The Wahoo bite was good offshore. A few Dolphin were caught and some nice catches of Triggerfish and Vermillion Snapper were brought in. A few boats headed offshore this morning and enjoyed a beautiful day out on the water. They returned with fair catches of Wahoo, some Dolphin and bottomfish- tilefish, trigger fish and grouper
Inshore boats fishing around the inlet and along the beach had catches of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Back in the sound boats had catches of Speckled Trout and limits of Clams

Finally some boats are out fishing! Offshore boats were doing well with Wahoo and a few Dolphin. Inshore boats were catching Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Weather was cool with low humidity. We are still under non-resident travel restrictions however "Dare County Emergency Management Director Drew Pearson- if you have a charter that is staying north of the Oregon Inlet Bridge while the mandatory evacuation order is in place, you can email Drew with their names and the date of their charter and they will try to work them through. [email protected]" We hope to have full power restored soon and welcome visitors and anglers back. We wish the CHEC speed and safety in their repair efforts, they have certainly gone above and beyond to get us this far. If you are lucky enough to be on the island Harbor Deli is open from 11am-3pm for lunch.
